ABOUT COACH LASSE GERDES

I’m originally from Germany and started playing basketball when I was about 12. I quickly joined both youth and men’s teams, later playing for a club in the 2nd regional league. Even as a teenager I enjoyed coaching — I worked with younger players and ran the basketball club at my school.

After school, I started working at IKEA (yes, very Swedish already 😅), which made it hard to keep up with competitive basketball, but I kept coaching whenever I could. Before moving to Sweden, I also played and helped coach a men’s team.

Basketball has been part of my life for a long time — and I love sharing that passion with the kids here! 🏀💙
